Overview
The Kupo KCP-636B Big Boom is a professional heavy-duty telescopic boom arm designed for precise positioning of lighting fixtures in demanding film, television, photography, and studio environments.
It features a four-way geared control system that allows smooth and controlled pan, tilt, rotation, and telescopic extension, giving operators full flexibility when placing lights in hard-to-reach or overhead positions. The boom is built from a combination of aluminium and steel for strength, stability, and long-term durability on set.
The telescopic arm extends from a compact folded length of 225 cm up to a maximum of 363 cm, making it suitable for a wide range of production setups. At full extension, it supports a maximum load of up to 6 kg, depending on configuration and balance.
At the top of the boom, dual receivers provide compatibility with both 28 mm (1-1/8") junior and 16 mm (5/8") baby fittings, allowing direct mounting of a wide range of lighting fixtures. A saddlebag-style counterweight system is used to maintain balance and improve stability during operation.
The folding design allows the boom to collapse neatly for easier transport and storage, making it a practical solution for both studio and location work.
