Overview

The Kupo KCP-641B Aluminum Baby Boom is a lightweight professional boom arm designed for precise positioning of lighting fixtures above a subject or camera in film, television, photography, and studio environments.

It is commonly used for overhead key lights, hair lights, and controlled top lighting setups where clean positioning and balance are essential. The boom is built from aluminium alloy for strength while keeping overall weight low for easier handling on set.

The arm extends from 124 cm to 217 cm, giving a flexible working range for a variety of studio setups. A built-in “ear” allows the boom to mount securely between the plates of a standard grip head, enabling fast integration with existing lighting stands.

For safety and balance, the rear section includes a hook and swivel hook system designed for attaching sandbags as counterweights. This helps stabilise the boom when fully extended and supports controlled positioning of mounted fixtures.

At the top, a 16 mm (5/8") baby stud with six milled flats allows direct mounting of lighting fixtures and accessories. The aluminium construction keeps it practical for mobile production work while still offering reliable load support when properly counterweighted.
