Overview
The Kupo Steel Heavy Duty Baby Boom KCP-628B is designed for professional film, television, photography and studio lighting applications where precise positioning and extended reach are required.
Constructed from three solid steel columns, the boom extends to a maximum length of 2.8 m while supporting loads of up to 6 kg when correctly balanced with the included counterweight. This allows compatible lighting fixtures to be positioned over sets, subjects or other areas where mounting directly above the stand is not practical.
The integrated KCP-645 pivoting boom arm clamp provides flexible mounting to a light stand fitted with either a 16 mm Baby stud or a Junior receiver. Its ratcheted handle allows the boom to be securely locked into position once the desired angle has been established.
A 4 kg KCW-04 counterweight is included to help balance the lighting fixture and improve stability during operation. The boom also includes a steel safety wire for an additional level of security when equipment is suspended overhead.
For easier transport and storage, the three-section boom can be disassembled to just 93 cm. Spring-loaded clips help keep the sections securely assembled, while the T-handle can be used as a tool when assembling or disassembling the boom.
