Overview
The Kupo Steadicam Stand With Braked Casters 163MBC is designed to give Steadicam operators, camera assistants and dolly grips a practical and stable place to rest heavy camera rigs and stabiliser systems between takes.
Constructed from black powder-coated steel, the stand supports loads of up to 36 kg and features a welded 5/8" (16 mm) Baby stud, making it useful beyond Steadicam support. It can also be used with heavier lighting fixtures fitted with a compatible Baby receiver.
The stand is fitted with large 8" pneumatic tyres, providing smooth movement across studio floors as well as uneven ground on location. The included KC-215S caster set features braked casters, allowing the stand to be positioned securely when required.
One of the most versatile features of the 163MBC is its detachable central pole. Once removed from the base, the pole can be used as a Moses pole, giving a Steadicam operator an alternative way to rest and support the rig when a larger docking stand cannot be carried. The central tube can also support the centre of a slider system, helping prevent sagging when the slider is mounted under a dolly.
With a footprint of 132 cm and a maximum height of 203.4 cm, the Kupo 163MBC provides a substantial and mobile support solution for professional film and television production. When folded, the stand can also stand upright on its own, helping save valuable storage space.
