Overview

The Kupo KCP-612 Single Pipe Boom Rig Kit is a professional pipe boom system, also known as a Menace Arm, designed to position lighting fixtures and grip equipment away from the supporting stand. This makes it particularly useful when the stand needs to remain outside the camera frame while the light or accessory is positioned precisely where it is needed.

The KCP-612 is designed to work with standard 1-1/2" Schedule 40 pipe, with an outside diameter of 48.3 mm. The single-pipe design allows the boom length to be customised according to the length of pipe used, making the system adaptable to different production requirements.

The front adapter incorporates a swivel 16 mm Baby stud and 28 mm Junior receiver, providing flexible mounting options for lighting fixtures and grip accessories such as flags and frames. The mounting point can be positioned at different angles to help achieve the required lighting or rigging setup.

For additional stability, the rear adapter features two welded hooks designed to hang over sandbags. A D-ring is also provided for connecting a ratchet strap between the front, centre and rear sections of the boom system.

The joint pipe adapter uses dual knobs to securely clamp the pipe from both sides. A captive locking knob prevents the knob from coming away from the adapter even when completely unscrewed, while the included safety wire and linchpin provide an additional level of security.

The KCP-612 is constructed from steel and finished in silver. The kit itself weighs approximately 6 kg, while the maximum boom length depends on the length of the customised pipe used. As with any boom system, the lighting fixture and counterweight must be properly balanced before use.
